Engagement sessions are a beautiful prelude to the main event—the wedding day. They offer couples an opportunity to celebrate their love story and document this exciting chapter of their lives. At Katherine Horton Photography, we had the privilege of capturing the love story of Christin and Lee, a couple whose journey to the altar is as heartwarming as it is inspiring.
Christin and Lee’s love story began the way many great romances do—through mutual friends. One of their friends, Trent, credits their meet cute to his mutual friendship with both of them. From the moment they met, there was instant attraction. Christin decided to shoot her shot by sending a “friend request” to Lee shortly after their first hang out. Lee took that as his opportunity to message her and see where this thing went. After a year and a half of dating, Lee popped the question back in June of this year. For their engagement session, we wanted to fill it with all the best spots in Birmingham, Alabama. We started off their session at the beautiful Southside Baptist Church in downtown Birmingham for it’s cascading white staircase and opportune location.
After capturing some intimate moments at the church, we ventured to the 1st Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. This iconic Birmingham spot offers a picturesque view of the city and the gorgeous backdrop of the bustling cityscape. Christin and Lee’s love radiated in every picture taken.
As the day waned, we made our way to a beautiful overlook at a family friends house, ready to chase the sun as it dipped below the horizon. The Alabama sky transformed into a canvas of vivid oranges and pinks, creating a breathtaking backdrop for the couple’s final engagement photos. Christin and Lee stood hand in hand, gazing at the sunset, a symbol of their love radiating warmth and promise.
Capturing Christin and Lee’s engagement session was a privilege. Their love story is a testament of the Lords faithfulness and kindness. Every photograph told a story of His grace and love. These two were MADE for each other. As we wrapped up the session, we couldn’t help but feel excited for what lies ahead on March 2, 2024—the day they will officially become Mr. and Mrs.
